Tokyo Day 2: More Imperial Grounds






Next we headed towards the Ote-mon gate entrance to get a ticket and head deeper inside of the Imperial area... in the area where you pick up your tickets (which were hard plastic domino-like pieces) there was a sign for English speaking people that read: "Don't stay inside - ticket come back"...

here we were able to get really close to the samurai guard houses, towers, and the massive walls... which of course we had to touch a few times... very cool!

we climbed up the Tenshudai Donjon ruins as well to get a very awesome view of the whole Imperial area... these were built in the early 1600's and lasted only 50 years before a great fire burned most of it down - they decided to not rebuild and left the ruins the way they were...
